The DPAD Cast of Characters.
Host of The DPod
Nick has been playing games since he acquired his first Colecovision back in 1983. Shortly thereafter the industry crashed, but that couldn’t stop him. Amassing a collection of video games over numerous platforms and refusing to part with them, Nick has a wide array of knowledge about any and all video games that have found their way to consoles over the past thirty years.
Generally speaking, Nick prefers niche titles, bullet hell shooters, obscure japanese RPGs, and a smattering of big budget triple-A titles. Nick also has a penchant for old Nintendo games, and swears by such classics as The Legend of Zelda, Castlevania, and Metroid.
Nick is also an amateur animator and really enjoys a good poop joke. You can email him at Nick@FromtheDPad.com.

Sharon, often referred to by her gamertag MyaSharona, is your pretty average dame. She started gaming on the Texas Instruments TI-99/4A. She claims to be an ‘unskilled’ gamer, but not for a lack of effort. She spent the 80’s (and most of the 90s) primarily with the PC and included a smattering of console games to the mix. Sharon converted to consoles gaming with the PS1 and now includes a smattering of PC playing. Sharon has been writing (and talking) about the games she plays as a contributing editor for various websites since 2009.
When not asking Nick, the gaming encyclopedia, questions about old games she never played, Sharon works as a graphic designer and illustrator creating graphics, images, websites, and children’s books. She also works as a marketing assistant, helping companies get involved with social networking and online media. You can follow her on twitter @myasharona or email her at Sharon @ FromTheDpad.com

Bio Coming Soon!
We at FromTheDPad are proud of all of our contributors for their hard work and passion for games. Volunteering your time to talk abut games when you could just be playing them, is something we here at the DPad do not take for granted. We are thankful for all of the contributions for our writers past, present, and future.
Josh is a self-made man, still living with his parents at the age of 20. He’s been playing games since he was five years old with an NES and SNES. The first game he ever played was Metal Gear, resulting in a large collection of Metal Gear games, comics, books, novels, and novelty toilet paper. When he’s not writing or playing video games, he’s either asleep or dead because that’s just about all he does.
Josh has a unique taste and vision for games; he believes that its time games and gamers grew up. He believes more mature and serious games need to be made, ones that explore the human condition and the meaning of life. Games that don’t feature giant burley men shouting and blowing aliens heads off, and ones that actually ask the questions “why am I fighting this alien, where did the alien come from, what is mine and its place in the universe?”
He is also very egotistical and has a dark sense of humor, so much so he counted the other writers bios and made sure his was much longer than theirs are.
Barrie is from Yorkshire, England and enjoys using only the traditional guns in Fallout. No energy zapping rubbish for him, no sir! In fact, he really likes the grenade launcher. He likes games made with thought, grit and quality – and that have grenade launchers in them.
He mostly plays Playstation and 360 games, has read poetry live in Edinburgh, should get some more exercise and wonders why there isn’t a Big Lebowski game on the market. Who wouldn’t love a chance to play as The Dude or Walter? “MARK IT ZERO!!”
He once threw a faulty copy of Vice City out of a 2nd floor window. It worked after that. True story.
His alter ego is NaltonGilbank.
Dom is games journalist & freelance writer based in good ol’ Blighty. He’s been playing games since he was five, which makes me officially old & something of a gaming addict. He loves first-person-shooters, platformers and the occassional beat-em-up so you’ll probably find him playing his beloved Halo or Call of Duty of a night. He loves his retro games and has more games & consoles than he has space to keep them in. He reads too many books, loves his comic books far too much & may be a bit of a Doctor Who fanboy
